“You’re adorable.” Those were the first words Pat wrote to Lisa on Match.com and those are the words that captured her attention. They seemed genuine and real, instead of just a line. It had been a long road in relationships for both of them but this one seemed really good. After the first phone call, a date was set for the first meeting. And voila, the journey began.
Date #1 was at the Dubliner 4 restaurant in Mission Viejo. After a 3 hour conversation, Pat and Lisa knew there might be something there. They talked family, politics, religion, wine and so many other things. But it took two weeks before they would meet up again. Lisa had a week trip planned to Monterey and Pat had business travel on the books.
Date #2 was at Christakis Greek restaurant in Tustin. It was a magical evening of great conversation, a special wine from Monterey and capped off with a night cap at Chaak where another patron commented that they made a “cute couple.” It seemed like it was destined to be.
Over the next few months, Pat and Lisa got to enjoy the holidays together followed by a busy travel schedule. Cambria, Monterey, Oregon, British Columbia, New York and Tennessee were all on the docket. All the while, Pat and Lisa found their lives becoming more and more mingled in the best way.
In the midst of it all, they decided to support Lisa’s daughter Elizabeth. She had started an antique/vintage home furnishings company and needed the help to scale up the business. With Pat’s strong management background, it seemed a natural step. And so, the Aged Interiors partnership was born.
The experience continued to deepen Pat and Lisa’s relationship as well as their growing faith together that had started early in the relationship. In April of 2025, the couple planned a trip to Tennessee for a wedding and to visit friends who had moved from California. It was a busy week that started in Chattanooga and finished in Nashville. Great food (BBQ especially), beautiful weather and scenery and wonderful memories with friends. That was just the first 6 days.
On day 7 of the trip, Pat planned a lovely dinner at the Standard in downtown Nashville. It was everything Lisa loved. Lovely historic ambiance, a fireplace setting in the bar area, and a private table for dinner. This was it. This was when Pat had planned to propose. Although they had talked “marriage” for months, Lisa wasn’t thinking about it that night. That was until Pat reached for his pocket. And then she knew! Pat dropped to one knee and asked Lisa to spend the rest of her life with him. And she said YES!!
A new chapter is being written and we are so grateful for all our friends and family who are part of this journey with us. God has been so faithful to guide us along the way and to bless each of one us with an incredible partner who is beyond what we could have hoped for.
See you all at the wedding!
